Just a short post to test out some mobile blogging. I’d have more updates if this goes well. Now that tax season is over I should be able to start catching up on the blog!

Yelp! Tucson – Event Photography @ Acacia Restaurant – Tucson, AZ

I was recently contacted by Yelp.com to shoot some event photos and run a photo booth for an exclusive member event.  The event was hosted at the new location for the popular Tucson restaurant Acacia.

Some favorites from the event and photo booth are posted below, with the remaining 150+ photos available in a separate gallery.  Please contact the studio to access the larger gallery.

Whitney + Ross – Wedding Photography @ The Westward Look Resort – Tucson, AZ

So far December has been such a crazy month I have barely had time to post any of my recent work, but things are finally slowing down as the holidays approach.  Earlier this month I photographed Whitney + Ross’  wedding at Vineyard Christian Community and the Westward Look Resort.

I suppose it is always incredibly bright out in Arizona, but you wouldn’t have thought it was December with temperatures reaching into the mid-eighties! Whitney, Ross, and their wedding party were great sports posing for photos and having fun regardless of the power of the sun.  The ballroom which held the reception benefited greatly from such a bright day letting in ample amounts of soft light through its many large windows.

It was actually a pleasant change of pace shooting a daytime wedding as opposed to a sunset wedding.  If you’re considering having a daytime celebration this winter give me a call!  I love working with natural light when I have the chance.

Baby Catalog Casting Outtakes – Baby Portrait Photography @ The Studio in Tucson, AZ

Another successful baby fashion shoot has come to a close.  This shoot was the first at our new location in Tucson’s Iron Horse Neighborhood, and I’m very happy with the results.

Below are some of the images chosen by BabyVision to be used in their upcoming catalog.

Thank you so much to everyone who participated in this most recent round of casting and modeling.  We should have another shoot coming up soon, so you’ll have another chance to get involved. Casting calls are posted here on the blog, so the best way to keep on top of the announcements is to follow @DanSteinPhoto on Twitter or by liking us on Facebook.

Dean, Ron Marx – Portrait Photography @ The University of Arizona, Tucson

Just a quick post this time.

I wanted to showcase one of my favorite photographs to come out of the recent shoot with Professor Ron Marx, Dean of the College of Education at the University of Arizona.

Tucson Celtic Festival! @ Rillito River Park, Tucson Event Photography

If you read through my most recent newsletter than you know that the Tucson Celtic Festival took place the same weekend as the All Souls Procession.  I made it my beeswax to be at both events and here is the fruit of my labor. There are just over 200 pictures available to view and/or purchase from the event.

I’ve narrowed down 12 of my favorites for easier viewing, but the rest can be viewed in full in a private gallery. Please contact the studio to access the larger gallery for print and download purchasing.

All Souls Fest – Photo Booth, Tucson

This was my first All Souls Procession since moving to Tucson, and I actually decided to concentrate on experiencing it rather than getting hung up on taking pictures.  Of course I also wanted to save my batteries for the photo booth I planned to set up over at BICAS after the grand finale.  I did happen to snap some shots of my crazy friends from Flight School doing some acro yoga on their float along with a few familiar faces in the crowd.

I know everyone is just dying (no pun intended) to see the results of the crazy photo booth I made so much fuss about!  Well it was really fun and I got some fantastic portraits!  It was quite the handful to manage the entire process by myself at a big event, so if you’re interested in being a photographer’s assistant, get in touch.

I’m definitely planning to do more event photo booths in the future, so keep your eyes peeled and of course contact the studio if you’d like to have a photo booth at your next big event!

Amber – Newborn Portrait Photography @ The Studio, Tucson

Alan + Robin from a maternity shoot I blogged about a few months ago called me recently to follow up with a portrait session for their beautiful new daughter, Amber.

She was only three days old at the time, but I still managed to capture her happy and alert, peacefully sleeping, and of course in a wild (and amusing) rage!  Crying babies look sort of amazing…
